For more than thirty years singer and guitar player Todd Sharpville has been one of British blues scene leading artists. Todd discovered the blues when he was a child listening to Freddie King and, among his greatest influences, we can mention Freddie himself, as well as T-Bone Walker, B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Hubert Sumlin, Eric Clapton, Lightnin’ Hopkins, Albert King, Otis Rush, Peter Green or Magic Sam among others. However, it wasn’t until the moment Joe Louis Walker became his mentor that his life completely changed.

During the nineties Todd was totally immersed in the music world, leading an unbridled life, performing practically every night without a single moment to rest. That led him to a mental breakdown with a two-months stay in a mental hospital located in West Wales.

This album reflects some of the experiences he lived during that period of time where he had time to think about his future life in the music world. It gathers nine Todd’s own songs, plus the versions of “Walk Out In The Rain” coming from Bob Dylan, “Money For Nothing” by Mark Knopfler and “Red Headed Woman” by Bruce Springsteen, under the clever production of Duke Robillard, where Todd also plays two duets, one with Larry McCray and the other one with Sugar Ray Norcia. These songs give shape to a personal well-developed recording, where Sharpville shares his experiences with listeners, always in a blues format, of the time he spent in hospital, and he does it in a very personal and passionate way.
