Daniel Smith is a young and restless piano and keyboard player who has always felt a great attraction to music and especially to the piano.
Born in Scotland, Daniel usually moves between United Kingdom and Spain. During the pandemic days, he thought it was a good idea to start composing, so the ten songs included in this recording are own compositions he wrote just after the pandemic. All the album songs are framed in styles like blues, boogie-woogie, soul or even jazz or ballads.
Besides giving piano lessons, Daniel is passionate about music and especially about the just mentioned styles. He is always willing to play and perform wherever he is required, and often he does different shows in Andalucía, where he usually lives, as well as in United Kingdom.
This album has been recorded in London with the members of his band in Great Britain and includes Daniel Smith on piano and Hammond, Pete Emery on guitar, Andy Jones on bass, drums in one song and vocals in two more songs and Peter Miles on drums and percussion. Daniel has also counted with some outstanding guests like Alan Barnes on sax, Alan Glen on harmonica and the powerful passionate voice of Jaelee Small in two songs and backing vocals too.
A recording that comes out from the adversity of the pandemic period, but also from the challenges of everyday life, which was conceived during Daniel’s honeymoon in Italy, took shape in Spain, matured in Scotland and was made in London, inspired by American music and particularly by blues. In short words, a recording that comes from the heart of a man who deeply loves music.
