Singer and piano player Teresa James goes on with her rising career that has made her to be nominated for the Grammy Awards in the category of “Best Contemporary Blues Album”, as well as recording and performing with artists like Walter Trout, Eric Burdon, Spencer Davis, Tommy Castro, Randy Newman, Marcia Ball, Levon Helm or Delbert McClinton among others.
Teresa inherited her father’s love for music. Born in Houston, Texas, she settled in Los Angeles, where she developed an intense career, not only performing with her band, The Rhythm Tramps, but also putting her voice in countless soundtracks of films and television series.
Over the years she has shown that she can perform with reliability and conviction different styles like greasy Texas blues, Memphis soul, New Orleans grooves or roadhouse rockin’ blues.
The recording features twelve interesting tracks, most of them written by Terry Wilson who has also produced the album together with Grammy winner John Porter (Buddy Guy, Taj Majal, Keb Mo), where Teresa has also collaborated in some of them. All songs will immediately let you appreciate the versatility, good work and variety of vocal registers that Teresa is able to provide to her performing, cleverly backed by her excellent band with Billy Watts on guitar, Terry Wilson on bass and Toni Braunagel on drums, together with a good number of guest artists like, among others, Darrell Leonard on trumpet, Pauline Cerra on sax, Kevin McKendree and John Clearly (both also Grammy winners) on piano and keyboards, Jay Ballerose (with another Grammy to his credit) and Richard Millsap (John Fogerty) on drums in a couple of tracks.
A recording to savor it calmly and enjoy with the good work of this brilliant artist.
