Born in France in the 80’s, singer and guitar player Frenchie Moe felt the call of blues when she was only eight years old, thanks to British bluesman Victor Brox, who was one of her father’s friends. At ten she was playing in Brox’s group and when she was fifteen years old, she formed his own band. Four years later she decided to take her chance in United States and, after traveling around the country, she settled in New Orleans where she has developed her career so far, besides collaborating with amazing musicians like Coco Robicheaux or Walter “Wolfman” Washington.
Lightning In A Bottle Records now releases an album with nine songs that faithfully show what Frenchie communicates in her live performances, with a combination of blues standards, old school rhythm & blues and original compositions. Frenchie Moe easily moves in different rhythms that range from slow blues to the most dancing grooves, that provide a colorful variety to the album.
As a guitar player, she has a good technique that comes with a voice, sometimes soft and sweet and sometimes torn and passionate. Besides, she is backed by a group of both young and veteran musicians from New Orleans, including Ward Smith and Bruce Eisenhohn (Luther Kent Band), Tiffany Pollack (Nola Blue Records), Mikey B3 or Scott Perro, together with an able rhythm section. All of them contribute to enhance the qualities of a woman who has the blues in her blood, performing with great conviction, something that undoubtedly will call fans’ attention.
