Here comes one of the best Chicago blues female voices, gifted with an innate talent for music and an amazing charisma Zora Young has the perfect right to be among the candidates to take up the blues queen place Koko Taylor left vacant after she unfortunately passed away The cd gathers fourteen songs recorded in two different French towns, Alsace and Limoges, during her last tour there, and represents a music tribute, not only to Chicago blues, but also to gospel, soul and deep Mississippi blues The list of songs is varied and eclectic, and covers from Muddy Waters’ Honey Bee to See See Rider (a song that has been claimed to Ma Rainey), In The Ghetto (Elvis Presley and Mac Davis), Mystery Train (Jr Parker), Tonight I’ll Be Staying With You (Bob Dylan), Better Be Ready (Dick Shurman) or Willie Dixon’s Wang Dang Doodle, where she pays homage to Koko Taylor The list includes seven more songs, from Sunnyland Slim to BB King, Hank Snow and finally one signed by Zora Young herself As you may easily imagine, it is an album for a wide audience, where our diva investigates different music, always with an extreme good taste, clever mind and, sometimes, with an excellent sense of humour
