With this second work Wihiteboy James and his musicians have definitely consolidated as a great South California band, specializing themselves in ‘fun good rockin’ blues’ Thanks to this powerful Last Time Was The Last Time, the band has reached their highest musical expression, raising a good status along the market where they move, thanks to the small independent label called Rip Cat Records Itis special mission is to discover new talents and, with these musicians they have really succeeded Whiteboy James & The Blues Express quartet give us a fun, delicious and generous dose of Chicago house rockin’ blues, Texas jump blues and rockabilly, all perfectly mixed with good taste and cleverness The result is a cd with fifteen fun dancing tracks, two of them written by the band’s guitarist Scott Abeyta, six more by singer and harmonica player Whiteboy James and the rest good covers coming from Big Maceo or Leiber & Stoller, together with other less known ones A great album, that’s true!
