A wonderful woman with a special touch and charisma to play blues, Americana music and boogie-woogie Wendy DeWitt learned and drank from blues sources mainly listening to Memphis Slim’s and Otis Spann’s albums She took on the density and strength of the so powerful left hand she has when she firmly attacks with passion the musical genre we are talking about and we all love so much Wendy’s career is wide and her musical background is perfect, as she has worked with many well known artists, from Hank Ballard, to Otis Rush or Steve Freund This album shows us the cool creativity of an artist who knows and conveys good and different sensations In Industrial Strength, Wendy is backed by some guest musicians, plus Chicago drummer Kirk Harwood, who gives the best support to make Wendy shine at a very high level with her magnificent voice and barrelhouse piano technique, along the thirteen cd songs, most Wendy’s own compositions, plus some ones coming from Little Brother Montgomery, Albert Ammons and George & Ira Gershwin
