There have been published various albums coming from Bill Homans, aka Watermelon Slim, but for me this one is his best one till now Slim came into music business world at the end of the seventies and was the only Vietnam veteran who had the opportunity to record an LP during that war period This bluesman has been nominated for ten times to the Blues Foundation International Blues Awards Till now Watermelon Slim has sold about thirty thousand copies of his last three cds, and he is still selling copies of them This new Escape From The Chicken Coop represents the highest point of his musical career and includes twelve wonderful and magic songs that cover from blues to country music Slim tastefully combines the different influences he has gathered along his music career of artists like The Carter Family, or Jimmie Rodgers, other western swing musicians such as Bob Willis and great bluesmen like Blind Lemon Jefferson and Sonny Boy Williamson A fantastic delicious album you should certainly take into account
