This cd has been a great surprise for me, because I did not know anythibg about this excellent musician called Watermelon Slim who has convinced me with his talent and real good taste to honestly and skillfully perform roots music, Americana and blues Southern Records Group keeps on the risky policy of giving an opportunity to musicians who have something new to say, although they are not well known artists, who will report them big benefits For those of you who do not yet know Watermelon Slim only say he has been playing with names like Henry ‘Sunflower’ Vestine (who unfortunately passed away), Bonnie Raitt, Robert Cray or John Lee Hooker among others Slim plays his original blues with such feeling and effectiveness that many other musicians would certainly envy He sings, plays slide guitar, harp and dobro always backed by The Fried Okra Jones Band together with other guest musicians which complete a very satisfactory recording
