Singer, guitarist and long time member of the band led by Robben Ford, The Ford Blues Band, has just published a cd under his own name Besides producing this Let The Music Rise, Volker Strifler has also written eight of ten tracks included in the album and two other songs belonging to Sleepy John Estes, Going To Brownsville and the other one entitled Jigsaw Puzzle to Danny Kirwan of Fleetwood Mac With this new work, Volker shows an specially bright innate talent and taste, that drive him to new Olympus of the elected artists, with an unlimited diversification, as he walks around different blues faces and shadows and he does it with no fear and a great courage, risking and showing his full potential and knowledge The music Volker and his band give clearly show many of his influences, ranging from Robert Johnson to Stevie Ray Vaughan, Peter Green, Muddy Waters or Hound Dog Taylor Volker Strifler has done a risky proposal and he has led it on a direction where the blues becomes the absolute protagonist, always from a daring and original perspective which makes it unique and different, with the exception of the song Redemption, where a groove of rhythms and Cuban beat prevail
