Born in 1972 in Chicago, Vivian Vance Kelly began singing when she was only five years old at Sunday services in local church where she came with her family Aged twelve Vivian led a hip-hop band and at nineteen she was the main voice in a reggae group It was her father, guitar player and singer Vance Kelly, who introduced her in the blues ways, where she gradually got a name in Windy City blues scene She also discovered her good skills as a songwriter, doing various songs that were included in several of her father’s albums He also performed regularly with Eddie C Campbell and toured Europe as a member of the Vance Kelly & The Backstreet Blues Band This album gathers ten own compositions, plus the versions of Denise LaSalle’s Husband Cheating On Us and Ben E King’s Stand By Me As usual, Wolf Records is committed to present the most real Chicago blues, in this case, a genuine West Side blues vocalist
