Bluedays come from Valladolid and are now a consolidated band with a long experience in the Spanish blues scene After years of career they have got a compact, robust and distinctive sound which has made them to gain in strength and reliability Few years ago they became the backing band of Chicago coming singer now settled in Madrid, Mrs Velma Powell Developing her career in the jazz circuits, Velma has gradually moved to the blues, thanks to a special feeling and a very particular voice that, sometimes, could remind those big blues divas like Sippie Wallace or Estella Mama Yancey Now she presents her last recording that includes seven Velma Powell’s and Jorge Otero’s own songs, four written by Velma and the whole band, and a version of Willie Dixon’s classic Too Late A repertoire where Chicago blues prevail, adding some vaudevil blues, jazz an even ballads influences Carlos Sanz on guitar and vocals, Mike Terry on guitar, Jorge Otero Jafo on bass and Nacho Castro on drums, plus the special collaboration of Paul San Martin on piano and Hammond and David Garcia on harmonica, are the perfect support to enhance Velma’s genuine feeling and make her shine with a remarkable quality
