Another excellent recording divided on two sections The first one Old School includes twelve original songs that were recorded in 1929 and 1930 by a bunch of bluesmen like Frank Stokes, Canon’s Jugstompers, Sleepy John Estes, Memphis Jug Band, Doctor Ross or Furry Lewis The following twelve songs present some of those artists’ disciples such as Bobby Bland, Johnny Ace, Jackie Brenston, Rufus Thomas, Elvis Presley, Rosco Gordon, Little Milton, or BB King, all them representing the ‘coolest’ Memphis sound of the fifties This is an interesting sample of that musical style
