There have just arrived from the new record label of Blues Matters! magazine, Krossborder, two compilation cds with a wide range of British blues bands, most of them quite unknown by general blues audiences who do not live on that island, All selected bands and artists have a great musical quality covering all the blues varieties, sides, faces and aspects that can be found today in Great Britain The aim of these two albums is to introduce a wide number of musicians from the United Kingdom to foreign fans, in order they can become familiar with them and, in this way, follow their musical careers The first volume includes sixteen emerging groups such as Little Devils, Network Buttler, Roadhouse, Innes Sibun, White Knuckles Blues Band or Dave Thomas, while in the second one you will find sixteen more bands which have already got a certain success like Gwyn Ashton, Paul Lamb & Chad Strentz, The Bare Bones Boogie Band or Kat & Co It becomes quite difficult to give a complete vision and an overall rating to both albums because, as you can easily imagine, the extreme variety of musicians and styles that come along in more than thirty-five songs, makes that some of them are better than others Anyway, all of them are a clear example of the good health and musical quality actual blues has in United Kingdom That is why you will enjoy listening to these two varied and really exciting cds, as they would certainly provide an excellent reference and overview of what is currently happening in contemporary Great Britain blues scene God save the Queen!
