Here comes a collection of four Cd’s plus a printed publication that tell us the history of one of those Chicago small record labels, probably not so popular like Chess, Vee Jay or Delmark but nevertheless with a remarkable importance in the building and development of the city music Its name was Bea & Baby Records and was founded thanks to the enthusiasm of Narvel Cadillac Baby Eatmon, who undoubtedly contributed to the growing popularity of sixties black music After more than fifteen years of silence, Eatmon decided to launch again his small label, but unfortunately he died before he could achieve this project he was so excited about Fortunately Earwig Music bought the rights to his widow and now his owner and good Eatmon’s friend, Michael Robert Frank, publishes these four cd’s with a total of one hundred songs that cover the whole label history and present most of the artists and styles which gave shape and brightness to Bea & Baby Records catalog Blues, rhythm and blues, gospel, funk, doo-woop and even hip-hop can be found in this collection featuring artists like Sunnyland Slim, James Cotton, Earl Hooker, Hound Dog Taylor or Andre Williams among an impressive list The collection also includes some unissued material, which helps to give a complete overview of this historical record company
