    Valoración: ESSENTIAL

Brave, suggestive, smart compilation of blues singers, included in the two quite different cd sections “Swing Low, Sweet Chariot…” and “…Coming For To Carry Me Home” but both devoted to gospel and spiritual songs. An original nice record where you will find Brownie McGhee, Blind Willie McTell, Muddy Waters, Papa Lightfoot, Cousin Joe, Smokey Hogg, Lightnin’ Hopkins, Big Bill Broonzy… until completing twenty-four artists working together on a common cause: Afroamerican religious music. As usually, some artists keep much closer to sacred music liturgy and classicism than other ones who get closer to rhythm & blues music, but this is something inevitable, due to the enormous variety of musicians who have contributed in this splendid cd.
