Drummer, songwriter, DJ, producer and blues lover Twist Turner lived and worked for several years in Oakland, in the Bay Area There he met some completely unknown artists who were gifted with a fine sensitivity and amazing musical qualities The idea of giving them a shot was in his mind when he had to move to Chicago to treat himself from cancer In Chicago the same thing happened than in Oakland, as he also met other excellent musicians who were totally unknown Finally Turner has been able to carry on his project and now he presents these musicians coming from Oakland and Chicago together Some of them are singers MZ Sumac, Nat Bolden, Emery Williams Jr, Del Brown, Gerald McClendon, James Newman, Country Pete McHill and Aldwin London, this last one on bass too, or Freddie Roulette on lap steel They are all surrounded by an impressive rhythm section and musicians who make the difference, where you will be able to find Twist Turner himself on drums in all songs It is praiseworthy what Turner has done to release this recording to give a good opportunity to all these excellent black singers and musicians who, otherwise, would never have been discovered and appreciated in all their value by wide audiences
