It is now twenty-five years since Madrid born guitar player Javier Vargas published his first album “All Around Blues”. Since then on Javier has developed a long successful career, besides collaborating to Javier Gurruchaga’s or Miguel Ríos’ tours as well as playing and recording with such great artists like Chris Rea, Junior Wells, Flaco Jiménez, Harmonica Zúmel, Andrés Calamaro or Carlos Santana among others.

This album has been recorded at Cotton Row Studios in Memphis where Albert Collins and Luther Allison recorded too, under the supervision and production of Nico Lyras. It includes eleven songs where Javier Vargas displays his undeniable guitar technique and personal style, pulling out a variety of colorful warm sonorities with a precise chromatic range. He is surrounded by Nico Lyras on rhythm guitar, David Smith on bass, Ernest Williamson on piano and Hammond B-3, Steve Potts on drums and singers Freddie Kirksey and Bobby Alexander, along with an impressive roster of guest musicians including Johnny Lang, Joe Walsh, Booker T-Jones and The Double Trouble Band which backed the late Stevie Ray Vaughan. This is a recording to have on mind.
