Tweed Funk is a band which began to play about five years ago with the aim to consolidate a project doing the music they liked, which is nothing than funk and soul-blues in equal parts During these years they have attracted a huge interest of different audiences, reaching a good international reputation among media and specialized music press The band comes from Milwaukee, Wisconsin and, I dare say, the two horns included in the album are the most powerful and convincing ones I have recently heard Tweed Funk are Smokey on main vocals, JD Optekar guitar and main voice in the song Deed is Done, Eric Madunic bass and main voice in Knock On Wood, Nick Lang on drums, Jon Lovas on sax, Kevin Klemme on trumpet and the special guest musicians Brian Looper Lucas harmonica on Get It On and Chrissy Dzioba and Sara Moilanen backing vocals in Blues In My Soul, Hoodoo Power and Divided This is a joyful, funny and danceable album with a good dose of excellent groove that will immediately catch all listeners
