Two band members of reputed Bakin Blues Band from Galicia decided to record an album in a duo format with a remarkable final result. Piano player Alejandro Casquero and singer and guitar player Javier Turnes joined forces on an album with ten songs where they have included an own composition together with different blues standards like “Got My Mojo Workin'” inspired on Jimmy Smith’s version, as well as Otis Spann’s “Spann’s Blues” or Robert Lockwood Jr’s “Funny But True”, together with other compositions coming from Fats Waller, Robert Johnson, Memphis Slim, Jimmy McHugh or Tom Waits. Both musicians show their blues knowledge as, not in vain, they have shared stage with musicians like Edu Manazas, Trudy Lynn, Mingo Balaguer, Steve Krase or Barbara Lynn among others. The album was recorded live in December 2019 at La Borriquita de Belen club in Santiago de Compostela and captures the magic of live shows and the true communicative essence of two well teamed gifted musicians, who confirm that blues and black music are now in good health in our country.
