The blues is alive and well, especially when it is performed by a formidable female singer like Trudy Lynn, a woman who always gives the best of herself It is a true joy for the senses to listen to her, riding and dominating the wild horse we call blues Trudy controls this bluesy ceremony with elegance, precision, intensity, fullness, passion and, over all, the commitment of those elected people who have been touched by the blues faith, to bless audiences who are willing to enter into the blues religion This is Trudy’s thirteen album published under her own name and, probably, it is the best of her career so far The album includes one Trudy’s own song that gives title to the recording, along with different versions of songs coming from Aretha Franklin, Big Maybelle, Etta James, Big Bill Broonzy and Jimmy Rogers among others This woman power and feeling appears magnificent in all songs, well backed by an excellent band with Steve Krase on harmonica, David Carter on guitar, Terry Dry on bass, Matt Johnson on drums , Jim Brady on trumpet and Dan Carpenter on sax, together with the tasteful guest guitars of Bob Lanza and Carolyn Wonderland
