Singer Tracy Nelson is one of the most powerful and high-quality voices of the American music scene. She has a long career that now reaches six decades, singing blues, country, New Orleans, gospel and rhythm & blues. She was one of the icons of San Francisco in the 60’s and in Austin during the 70’s. Tracy has always been active, participating in different projects with Corky Siegel and she was also member of the Blues Broads together with Angela Strehli, Annie Sampson and Dorothy Morrison.

Most of her followers were waiting for a new album, something she had not done for ten years. Now Tracy has felt it was time to record again, so she has selected thirteen songs she had always wanted to play, that are a good example of her vocal skills and the variety of styles she can approach with reliability giving them really interesting nuances. From traditional songs to some own compositions, she co-wrote with Marcia Ball or Mike Dysinger, as well as some amazing versions of songs coming from Sonny Boy Williamson, Ma Rainey, Hank Williams, Willie Dixon or Chuck Berry, allow us to savor the versatility of this great voice and the performing power she gives to every cut included in the album.

Recorded in three days at Sound Emporium Studios in Nashville, Tracy is perfectly backed by some impressive musicians like Kevin McKendree (Delbert McClinton) and Steve Conn (Bonnie Raitt) on piano, Byron House (Robert Plant) on bass and double bass, Mike Henderson on guitars and Jon Gardner (Taylor Swift) on drums.
