For those of you who are not familiar with this Barcelona band, only say that it is the new Ricky Gil’s group who, together with his brother Albert were the founders and leaders of the legendary Brighton 64, which became one of the greatest eighties Spanish bands Their style was a convincing tasteful mixture of British sixties pop music with some r&b, soul and mersey-beat and, at that time they were the undisputed leaders of the Spanish neo-mod movement with lots of fans all over the country With twenty years more of experience Ricky shows himself as a more mature musician, not only as a singer but also as composer and lyrics writer, no wonder he has just published his first book ‘Ball and Chain’ for Milenio editions For this new project Ricky has left the bass –his main instrument until now- and he has taken the guitar as principal instrument The backing band is really superb along the twelve songs included on the cd that balance between garage r&b and seventies power rock all spiced with British pop roots It is a good cd indeed
