The influences of New York singer and guitar player Tony O can originally be found in BB King and Hubert Sumlin at the time this last one was guitar player in Howlin’ Wolf’s band In the late 60’s Tony O was lucky to meet them both, starting a strong friendship between them Along his fruitful career Tony has been band member with Jimmy Rogers, Victoria Spivey, James Cotton, Little Mike And The Tornados, Zora Young and The Legendary Blues Band which included Pinetop Perkins, Bob Stroger, Calvin Jones, Louis Myers and Willie ‘Big Eyes’ Smith With this amazing experience on his back, one can easily imagine Tony is a brilliant musician and a superb guitar player gifted with an undeniable quality This album showcases the best traditional electric blues, ranging from Chicago blues to the most genuine BB King’s sound that glides along the whole recording Tony O has brought the blues nearly all over the world including such distant countries like Japan or the Virgin Islands, has recorded more than twenty-five albums and, in 1998, was nominated for the Grammy Awards If you ever visit New York and ask someone on the streets for a blues musician they recommend you to go to see and listen too, everyone will answer you the same: Look in town for a club where Tony O plays tonight
