Along his wide career of more than four decades, Tommy Castro has hardened and matured himself thanks to countless recordings, tours, shows,… making audiences raise up of their seats to dance with his catching rhythms and magical grooves Up to date Castro has published fourteen albums filled with blues, soul and lots of West Coast rock Tommy began his music career as sideman in San Francisco Bay Area and his first influences can be found back in his teenager days when he started to listen to Eric Clapton, Mike Bloomfield and Elvin Bishop, but soon he discovered the true and genuine blues world thanks to BB King, Muddy Waters and Buddy Guy, as well as major gospel and soul vocalists like Ray Charles, Wilson Pickett and James Brown His last album Method To My Madness presents ten own compositions plus a terrific version of BB King’s song Bad Luck and the soul standard I’m Qualified coming from Clarence Carter Together with the strong, able, well teamed band The Painkillers, Tommy has recorded this last album live on studio using no recording studio wizardry, doing everything in one run, like they never had done till now The result is they have got to give a fresh melodic air to the incendiary mixture of powerful rock, raw blues and deep hurtful soul A complete joy!
