While he was doing some shows in New York in the summer of 2013, Tomás Doncker felt he had to do something to pay tribute to one of his greatest idols like was Howlin’ Wolf This idea gradually matured in his mind, which finally took the shape of an open-minded album, which received the blessing of two of Howlin’ Wolf’s greatest biographers like are James Segrest and Mark Hoffman, as well as Wolf’s daughter, Ms Betty Kelly, who was delighted with the idea In 2020 this project has finally seen the light, with an album that includes eleven songs coming from the always missed Howlin’ Wolf and one Tomás’ own composition entitled Shook Down Besides the incredible similarity between Doncker’s and Wolf’s voices, all the selected songs perfectly recreate the atmosphere that great bluesman gave to his songs, without forgetting a very actual display that makes this recording perfect to be appreciated either by a new blues lover and a long time blues fan It is always a pleasure to listen again to such iconic songs like Killing Floor, Back Door Man, Spoonful, Little Red Rooster or I Ain’t Superstitious, perfectly developed by Tomás Doncker on vocals and guitar, backed by up to nine musicians who give shape and consistence to this remarkable recording
