Do you like burlesque? Cabaret? May be vaudeville? If you like all these musical genres, then this is an album especially devoted to you, in spite the band consider their music as a combination of swing, country, bluegrass and hillbilly which, of course, is true Tomaccos is a group with musicians coming from different countries but all settled all in Madrid, formed by Captain Edward Mill on vocals, dobro, Parlor guitars, washboard and percussion, Suzanne Baquet on clarinet and voice, Rodderick Owens on bass and vocals and Al Monseau on acoustic guitar For the recording the band has added some guest musicians like Marcos Ortega on trumpet, Miguel Rodriguez on violin, Lady Pepper, Agnes Bazini and Brigitte Goigoux on vocals and Nacho Mur on banjo The Captain says their music directly drinks from the whisky that was distilled in the south of USA during 19th century and, may be, it is true, because I have never drunk it, mainly for the remote time and long distance we are talking about What I can surely tell you is that if you want to move closer to the time and music of those small theatre companies which, during the first two decades of the 20th century travelled all over the south along the TOBA circuit, be sure Tomaccos will drive you back to those suggestive musical years
