Well, well, well This last album from young singer and guitarist Tom Feldmann is fine, really fine Tom devotes his new job to pay homage to his twenties, thirties and forties heroes, with a bunch of ten well done bright and always respectful songs, performed on an attractive contemporary own style You will find the closest songs to gospel music by Fred McDowell, Charley Patton, Blind Willie Johnson, Robert Wilkins, Bukka White and Son House among others The way he deals with these old songs is worthy of admiration in a young tradition lover, he plays them with the only support of his voice, his National Reso-Phonic and the backing of Paul Liebenou on bass, Jed Staack on drums and the special collaboration of Jed Gemond on Pedal Steel in two songs As Tom Feldmann himself says After fourteen years doing my own songs, it’s time now to pay tribute to my roots, With this album Feldman does his bit to preserve his musical heritage for future generations Thank you Jesus!
