For this new recording, Austrian band Tobacco Road Blues Band have chosen the title of ‘Papa Legba’, a mythical figure coming from African and Caribbean religions which has also being present in blues world, that is also the title of one of the songs included in the album. The recording started at the end of 2019 and, despite the Covid situation, bass and drums could record in their own studios and the rest of the musicians who participated in the project were able to record from their homes with their own equipment and contribute with their knowledge and ideas. The band is led by Peter Prammerdorfer on guitar and vocals and also includes Mike Diwald on guitar and vocals, Christian Egger on bass and Klaus Sauli on drums. A good number of guest artists from different countries can be found in the album like Christian Dozler, Tomislav Goluban, Mike Sponza or Clemens Herzog to mention a few of them. The thirteen songs that give shape to the recording communicate a good dose of honesty, sensitivity, bright feeling and especially show the convincing and effective way these musicians develop a music that is over actual fashion and musical sensationalism.
