Although he has deeply been influenced by bands like Pink Floyd, Genesis, Jethro Tull, Jefferson Airplane or Grateful Dead, Tim Woods has never left the blues aside When he was a teenager he deeply admired Willie Dixon, Howlin’ Wolf or Muddy Waters In June 2005 he was able to share stage with Honeyboy Edwards, Homesick James, Sam Lay and Pinetop Perkins This led him to record, decades after, in Clarksdale, Atlanta and Chicago, an album whose title is The Blues Sessions in homage to those artists, featuring musicians like Big Jack Johnson, John Primer, Bob Stroger or Honeyboy Edwards among others This new recording found its inspiration on a journey Tim did to Sedona, Arizona, where he felt the special energy of that landscape and natural place, which became the driving force of the melodic and lyrical structures that can be found in this really conceptual album, where rock and psychedelia come together During all these years Tim has followed his path, cleverly combining with a total determination the influences of all previously mentioned bands with his very personal vision of music, expanding his original musical conception all over the places he has visited
