Canadian singer and guitarist Tim Gibbons has just released an album which drives him back to his most primitive rock and blues roots After be known as a banjo player in acoustic shows, now Tim wants to present his electric guitar player face and his special way of singing, half way between Slim Harpo and songwriters like Tom Waits, Leonard Cohen but especially Bob Dylan he deeply admires Nine original songs, some performed more properly than others, but always played with deep honesty, because Tim Gibbons’ aim is not to deceive anyone Tim began his musical career as drummer in school garage bands when he was in secondary school When he was seventeen years old, he decided to devote himself to banjo and guitar He played in different rock bands, but also in small theatre and burlesque companies His song Lonely One was included in the Oscar awarded film Sling Blade soundtrack Since then on Tim Gibbons has been musically recognized all over Canada This album gives us the work of a musician on a series of intimate complex songs, performed on a restrained but at the same time very meticulous way
