Tim Gartland’s life changed when he was 13 years old. At that time, he saw a Muddy Waters’ show in his native Ohio. From that moment on, he decided to learn to sing and play harmonica, and he started to seriously think about devoting himself to music. Little by little he managed to make his way, but it was not until 2011 after he recorded his first album under his own name that blues doors started to open for him. That same year he released an instructional harmonica book entitled “The Talking Harmonica” and, in 2014, he released his second album.

Now he presents a new recording that, although it only includes eight own compositions, it becomes a good example of the styles Tim develops, that move among blues, soul, roots rock and reggae. Listeners will discover Tim’s quality and technique on harmonica and especially the peculiar deep and hoarse voice that make him become a different artist who deserves to be appreciated by good music lovers.

All songs have an attractive and quite wrapping rhythm and groove that little by little will catch you, driving you to that special style that gets off the mainstream and gradually makes you fall in love with his music.

Also, the song’s lyrics talk about daily problems in America today, like immigration, freedom and equal opportunities, the job and beloved woman loss, or the happiness that music provides.

Tim has counted with a group of excellent musicians like Robert Frahm on guitar, Mike Joyce (Delbert McClinton) on bass and Jack Bruno (Joe Cocker, Tina Turner) on drums, together with the collaborations of Dennis Drummond on percussion and vocals and Nalani Rothroc and Jolie Grace on backing vocals.
