Twenty years can be many or few years in an artist career. But if this artist takes his job seriously and manages to mature and evolve, two decades are enough to recognize and appreciate his talent. This is the case of singer and guitar player Thorbjorn Risager who, twenty years ago, started his musical career playing in small Copenhagen pubs and now he is well known all over Europe. German label Ruf Records has decided to release a double album with twenty-five songs that cover his twenty years career. The first CD gathers fifteen songs ranging from 2004 to 2012 and captures all the strength, energy and expressiveness of an emerging singer and guitar player who, during those years, came up with a repertoire based on blues, rhythm and blues and fifties New Orleans music. The second one includes eighteen songs recorded between 2014 and now, where Risager shows his clear evolution to a more actual sound without losing his defined style framed in blues and rhythm and blues. Ruf Records saw the potential of an original musician, both in his music and personality, which should be really commercially promoted and developed, as it has been so far. For Thorbjorn Risager and his band The Black Tornado, this double CD is not an end point but a turning point to give a new boost to their rising path.
