Bluegrass, American roots music and, to a certain extent, Irish folklore lovers will feel lucky with Thierry Massoubre’s new album that includes fifteen instrumental songs coming from legendary musician Bill Monroe, as well as some Thierry Masasoubre’s own compositions, plus one tune by French guitar player Michel Haumont Massoubre is a virtuoso of five-string banjo, which becomes evident along the whole recording, where he has been surrounded by fourteen excellent musicians, all them experts, not only in the just mentioned musical genres, but also in different string instruments like mandolin, mandola, banjo, guitar, bodhran, fiddle or bass This is a relaxing but, at the same time, optimistic and funny album, with a good dose of musical poetry that, undoubtedly, will drive us closer to a musical style rather unknown for general audiences All songs communicate an amazing beauty as well as a huge emotional feeling that will certainly catch any listener with a minimum good taste and sensitivity
