Thierry Crommen is a real harmonica virtuoso. This cd clearly reflects it because Cromen shows us he has a deep hot tone. “La Nouvelle Donne” is not a blues record, but an eclectic album, as you will find on it classic music, jazz, Spanish music, blues and other musical styles, together with some Toots Thielemans¡s or Stevie Wonder’s influences. The cd was recorded on an acoustic trio format with Crommen on harmonica, sax and keyboards, Chris De Pauw on guitar and Erno on piano and keyboards, plus different guest musicians in some tracks. A delicious intimist and versatile work, full of rich chromatic details and excellent melodic harmonies that give a magic sensitive and very poetical atmosphere to the whole cd.
