The true thing is I have no words to describe the very good impression this album has given to me The Texas Horns have dazzled me, as well as they have dazzled the audiences which have faithfully followed them since 1999, and they do it with a music that mixes first class vintage swing, Chicago blues, jump blues and New Orleans grooves Now we have possibility and the great pleasure to listen to them, thanks to this album that brings together three of the best horn Texas players, like sax players Mark Kaz Kazanoff, John Mills and Al Gomez This three musicians, together with Barry Frosty Smith on drums and guitar player Derek O’Brien (who, this time plays bass), give us the immense pleasure to listen to them performing a masterfully chosen repertoire The recording also includes some deluxe guest musicians such as Marcia Ball, W C Clark, Nick Connolly, Anson Funderburgh, or my always admired Johnny Nicholas among others Both in versions of well known blues standards like Caledonia or People Get Ready and in their original compositions, all performed with an extreme precision, good taste and an amazing feeling, The Texas Horns create a beautiful atmosphere and communicate an overflowing rhythm and swing that I am sure will not let anyone indifferent
