Although we do not usually review EP’s, this time I will do an exception with The Swingin’ Blackjacks new release, which brings us four genuine and excellent songs based on rockabilly music The four tracks are singer, guitar player and band leader Matt Allen’s own compositions and can be placed halfway between rockabilly and West Coast jump blues Four songs to enjoy and dance, that let’s hope are the prelude of a whole album to be able to appreciate and savor all the potential, quality and good work this group with Matt Allen on guitar and vocals, Gary Kendall on bass and vocals and Adam David on drums manages to communicate to everyone who listens to them The songs included are Little Redhead, a genuine raw rockabilly song with a touch of dusty roadhouse blues, I Love You So, another rockabilly song with cajun influences, Never Go Out To Play, a song closer to T-Bone Walker’s Texas shuffle and finally Little Easter, a swamp rock beat tune, all them perfect for a Saturday night party
