It is always gratifying to listen to Puertas’ brothers, a real breath of fresh air for the purist blues ears, because Puertas’ brothers are one of the most orthodox blues duos of actual Spanish blues scene Both musicians mastery know the blues language and develop it with an extreme respect and a faultless deep love for the music they play Besides, Victor Puertas and his brother Pere have an unbelievable precise technique of the instruments they play, as they are true real masters of guitar and harmonica In this Gettin Outta Town you will find references to pre-war urban blues legends such as Sonny Boy Williamson I, Jazz Gillum, Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee, Peg Leg Howell or Bo Carter, although they have also included different covers coming from Jimmy Rogers, Big Walter Horton, John Cephas & Phil Wiggins or Dave Bartholomew This is an excellent album, perfectly performed, where the feeling and the spirit of genuine blues is present from the first to the last song
