Although the group The Sugar Roots was founded in 2021, their sound treasures the experience of a band with a long career on its back, endless gigs and hundreds of kilometers on the road.

Coming from Portland, Oregon, they have learned the greatest blues secrets from masters like Curtis Salgado, Paul DeLay, Lloyd Jones, Jim Mesi, Norman Sylvester, DK Stewart or Duffy Bishop.

Led by Chad Rupp on vocals, guitar, piano and harmonica, the other members are Jason “JT” Thomas on guitar, Timer Blakely on bass and Chandler Bowerman on drums. Together with them you will find in the recording a good number or guests who contribute to round up a fantastic, funny, full of infectious energy album. They sound like a powerful oiled engine, a whirlwind where guitar, piano or sax solos combine with an amazing skill to communicate tons of feeling on an efficient, mature way, also swowing an extreme good taste and skill. The musical arrangements, horns and vocal harmonies are rich, diverse and really surprising, so the final result and production is superb and bright.

If you like good rhythm and blues, soul, rock but especially intense raw rocky blues, then The Sugar Roots are your band of reference.
