From Portugal comes The Smokestackers new recording. It is a really original band quite different from the usual blues groups. With a solid basis in the most authentic and genuine Delta blues, they investigate new musical paths and sounds, both in acoustic and electric format, giving a new dimension and personal identity to a very eclectic repertoire.

The album includes two CDs with seven songs in each one, all them own compositions. The first one “Road Songs” drives us to a wrapping, dark and swampy atmosphere that gradually goes inside listeners’ hearts, thanks to the particular way of understanding and developing the blues. The second cd “Tales Of Wandering Thoughts” follows the same path than the previous one, this time in electric format, without forgetting their peculiar way of understanding the blues that takes us to a dreamlike universe of singular feelings, where blues, rock, psychedelia and grunge come together.

The band members are Joâo Belchior on vocals, acoustic guitar and harmonica, Diogo Mâo de Ferro on electric guitar, slide and vocals, Vasco Pereira on bass and vocals and Marco Jung on drums and vocals.

Blues music in Portugal is in good health and The Smokestackers totally prove it.
