I do not know why but, the more I listen to this cd, the more I love it I am gradually discovering new gratifying nuances that make me deeply enjoy it SideCats are not a usual acoustic quartet, they go further up They are a four friends band where the delicious voice of singer Shirley Jackson is perfectly backed by guitar and tenor sax she also plays, together with Dawn Hatfield on baritone sax, Rob Mcintosh on tenor sax and Jef James Wirchenko on acoustic bass They are a different original band among combos with ‘bluesy’ influences The four musicians produce a peculiar personal style with a very warm sound They do a mixture of hot-jazzy-blues with roots and they get a high sound quality and a lot of swing too
