A fine elegant cd done by singer, songwriter and guitar player Rick Fines, who is gifted with an special sensibility and delighful good taste Rick is basically influenced by thirties and fourties music and he combines different elements of blues, jazz, swing, r&b, jive, jump and groove music, all perfectly and cleverly mixed The result is an excellent effective subtle cd All songs included on the cd were specially written for the trio, Rick Fines, vocals and guitar, Rob Phillips on piano and Richard Simpkins on acoustic bass The trio shine at a very high level and they reach an original warm atmosphere that gradually grows along the whole cd A small cast of guest musicians complete and give shape to this amazing cd that I highly recommend
