Winners of 2018 European Blues Challenge in Hell, Norway and representing his country, Denmark, at the IBC in Memphis, The Ragtime Rumours bring a new, actual and different vision to gipsy swing, pre-war blues, ragtime and 30’s jazz As European Blues Challenge winners, they have had the opportunity to perform at the most important European blues festivals and, in this way, make themselves well known outside their country The Ragtime Rumours are a curious band which nicely and properly mix the just mentioned styles, adding a touch of the essence of Robert Johnson, Django Reinhardt or Tom Waits, always with cool, spontaneous uninhibited air that makes them sound with a unmistakable stamp The group has personality and their attitude allows them to connect with a young audience who will feel encouraged to approach with curiosity to these musical genres rather unknown for them The album includes eleven original songs plus a version of a traditional tune, songs that could have been written either in 1920 or 2018 You will find four multi-instrumental young musicians playing acoustic guitars, slide, accordion, banjo, washboard, drums, flute, double bass or sax Together they give shape to this enjoyable different album, where they have also counted with the collaboration of piano, trombone, trumpet and backing vocals
