Led by guitar player, singer and songwriter Neil “Porkroll” Taylor, after a forced stop, The Porkroll Project comes back with more strength and determination. Born in a musical family, Neil discovered his passion for the guitar when he saw West Montgomery playing a wine-red Gibson guitar. Since then and along his career Neil always likes to play that color guitars. From West Montgomery Neil moved on to the blues and immediately became a passionate fan of Willie Dixon, Howlin’ Wolf, Buddy Guy and especially Muddy Waters. This is the third album he has released on Roadhouse Redemption Records. Eleven songs where own compositions mix with blues versions, performed with conviction and energy by The Porkroll Project, a group formed by musicians from Philadelphia such as Neil Taylor on vocals, guitar, banjo and percussion, Walter Runge on organ and piano, Anthony Pieruccini on bass and John “JT” Thomas on drums, together with a greasy horn section and the special collaborations of Paul Matecki on vocals in a couple of tracks, Jesse Taylor on bass in one song and Buddy Cleveland on harmonica. Also the lyrics tell us about sordid dramatic stories that find their redemption in the blues. In short words, this is a more than interesting album to de discovered and enjoyed lots of times.
