Bad To Worse is an sturdy vigorous cd presenting an exceptional star called Morris Cummings who sings and plays harp in the most authentic downhome patterns The original way he faces blues makes him be a peculiar dashing musician with a quite different feeling The backing band, The Pocket Rockets, have enough talent and experience to make eveything sound good and convince people they are facing a good blues record Bad To Worse will surely satisfy not only wide audiences but also expert blues fans who love get a well done modern Chicago blues cd The Pocket Rockets are the backing band on the second cd which gives us the opportunity to enjoy a powerful fierce singer woman The band develops a more innovative musical background than in the previous cd, closer to rock than to blues Suzzane performs thirteen teeming groove songs that sometimes could remind Bonnie Raitt’s style Brad Webb, Pocket Rockets’ leader and guitar player, shares leadership on the resting two cds with singer and harmonica player Blind Mississippi Morris Country Days is a very Chicago South Side cd, where Morris shows a bright high vocal and harp technique (vocally speaking he is greatly influenced by Howlin’ Wolf he sometimes brightly and tastefully imitates) On harp he has got an effective hard overdrived amp sound and he is also brilliant on guitars The rest of the musicians give a very professional work too Finally, ‘Back Porch Blues’ is an excellent piece of work, where once again Brad Webb is the ‘godfather’ and leader of all these musical stories He is a real fighter and he has spend time and energies on blues field, not only as a musician but also as producer, cds cover designer, or recording studio owner On this cd your will find eleven downhome songs, including piano player Robert Nighthawk as guest musician on three tracks The rest are eight intimistic Delta songs honestly and sincerely performed
