Legendary Columbia state blues and roots band The Nighthawks, comes back to the top of the blues scene with this new work that, on a first listening, has awakened in me wistfulness feelings I am not able to explain the reason After approximately five decades of career and being on the road, the band has gathered a huge experience developing and collecting a lot of different influences, so that is the reason why this album could be defined to a certain extent as an eclectic one for the variety of musical brushstrokes and colours, all them framed in the blues The musical richness that can be noticed along the whole recording is really amazing and the undeniable attraction it oozes is immediately felt in each an every one of the twelve songs included in the album The band appears naked, without musical collaborations or guest artists, the four band musicians are more than enough to fill the album with that strong, greasy, straightforward, hot and electrifying sound of the good Saturday night club bands Mark Wenner on harmonica and vocals, Paul Bell on guitar and vocals, Johnny Castle on bass and vocals and Mark Stutso on drums and vocals round up a high voltage recording that should not miss in your record collection
