This cd gives me old time jazz musical memories It was a long time since I have had the opportunity to listen to the brass sound of the great New Orleans Mardi Grass or the musical parades that followed New Orleans funerals I believe that still survive in that city The New Birth is much more than a combo which plays and sings in the old traditional style They are a young band that provides new elements such as funk or r&b, mixing them with exquisite good taste with the old traditional forms of Louisiana Afroamerican music This original combination together with some drops of gumbo, Indian songs, ragtime or even modern jazz, gives as a result the future (today already present) XXI Century New Orleans Jazz Brass Sound
