Veteran rockers with the blues in their hearts, The Name Droppers were for years Johnny Winter’s and legendary Charlie Karp’s (who, at a very young age, was guitarist of drummer Buddy Miles) backing band. Together with these two icons of music, the band did countless tours all over the world, achieving an amazing popularity as instrumentalists.

After Charlie Karp’s death in 2019 the band decided to evolve and start a new journey under the name of The Name Droppers. This album is a good example of the path they have done as well as the experience they have gathered over the years, that allows them to cover and develop a good number of different styles framed in rock, soul and blues they display with originality and good taste.

The recording presents ten songs, eight of them own compositions, one of these devoted to what happens in Ukraine and the last two ones, versions of “Further On Up The Road” and the Jimi Hendrix’s classic “Red House Blues”.

The band includes Rafe Klein on guitar, Ron Rifkin on piano and organ, Scott Spray on bass and Bobby “T” Torello, composer of most songs, on drums. The album also features renowned guests such as guitar players Al Ferrante and Jay Willie, vocalists Heather Joseph, Simone Brown, Carol Sylvan and The Horizon Music Choir, Bill Holloman on sax and Mark Naftalin (Paul Butterfield Blues Band) on piano.
