For about forty-five years singer, keyboard player and song writer Mike Duke has done a good work for other artists It wasn’t until this year he has released his first own album for Little Village Foundation, a non-profit record label headed by Jim Pugh which main goal is to let high-quality artists who, unfortunately, have not get the success they deserve in today’s competitive music market, be well known and appreciated by general audiences It was Bob Brown, manager of Huey Lewis & The News, who discovered Mike’s Duke potential and amazing qualities, not only as a musician but also as a composer, betting on him and becoming his most faithful follower and mentor The album gathers eleven songs belonging to various recordings Mike has done along his musical career, mostly coming from the eighties and nineties, which show the evolution and quality of this interesting artist The cd also includes four new songs where Mike Duke’s voice and piano are backed by such great musicians like Elvin Bishop, Kid Andersen, Jim Pugh or Angela Strehli Undoubtedly this is a highly recommended artist and, let me say, what you are going to listen to, can’t be easily found, so you will deeply enjoy it
