Mike Clark displays all his artistic and musical skills with energy, eclecticism and elegance. He also includes the music that over the years has influenced, in a good mixture of styles and genres. As a lyricist, the album pays homage to Canadian soldiers who served and still serve in Afghanistan, as in the song “And Counting”, written in 2007. He also shows us his most intimist sensitivity in the song “Beauty and Truth”, dedicated to his brother Allen who unfortunately passed away, or “Do Not Lose What You Love”, where Mike Clark tells us many things which have changed his life during the last five years. Musically speaking, you will find a little bit of rock, blues, porch-song, fifties ballads, Americana and even some bossa. A good done enjoyable album, where Mike sings and plays tenor sax, flute, guitar and percussion, perfectly backed by Brent Wright, together with Brent Wright guitar, Brian Pollock, bass and Thom Moon, drums.
